Located six miles from the mainland in Penobscot Bay, Isle au Haut is accessible to most people only by boat. Fortunately, the Isle au Haut Boat Company provides year-round transportation service from Stonington, ME to Isle au Haut for people, mail, and freight. Visitors to Isle au Haut will travel aboard either the Mink or the Otter, the newest addition to the Isle au Haut Ferry Service. Seasonally, the Boat Company also provides service to Duck Harbor for visitors to Acadia National Park.
The Isle au Haut Boat Company has been a non-profit organization with 501(c)(3) status since 2002.
